Hello,
My computer boots up but no display, I can see the bios and even Vista loading bar and if system stay idle a vista screen saver will play but when I press a button to "wake it up" there is nothing. I can hear that there is activity but nothig comes up on the screen. This is not hardware, I've changed Monitor, Video card, monitor cable, still the same. same symptoms in Safe Mode -it's got be be the Registry, can't just reload Vista cos I'm at SP2 and hence Repair says not possible. Windows Service Builder needs a circa 1.6Gb download and I'm unable to use my PC - Help please.
Thanks

Have you considered making a slipstreamed vista SP2 disc?

That was just a thought I had, and then you can probably do a repair.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Hi, thanks for your input; I've heard of slipstreaming but decided I would put of doing a re-install until sure that was the only option. Given I have all the VISTA and other application disks plus Mainboard, ATI DVD's etc I will probably stick with what I know and load from these and let the Auto-update software trickle down the latest updates over time - there goes my monthly broadband limit exceeded again!

System still down and I'm working on spare PC.

Once again thanks

Geoff
