I need some help figuring out where to copy this file so the application can run. I have tried putting it in the actual directory of the application, windows folder, windows/system/, and windows/system32/ any other ideas on how to get this application to run?

Have you tried the following command from Start, Run dialog

REGSVR32 %Systemroot%\System32\comdlg32.ocx

After putting the comdlg32.ocx in the Windows\System32 folder

Restart Windows and then launch your application.

Just as a sidenote to the above, you will need to run this command in a command prompt window started with admin rights. This had me stumped for ages when I was trying to get these OCX files registered!
