Why is my computer still very slow even after cleaning. It drives me crazy. Especially when playing petsgame with fast browser (Opera & Chrome) at Tagged, computer is só slow. Refreshing the page takes long time. Do I have a software problem?

I ask this to everyone who has a speed problem with Windows Vista, but what are your specs? (CPU and RAM)

See perfmon and taskman for clues.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:

1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.
6. Click "OK"
Hope this helps!
