Changing Programme Icons

Some time ago I changed the icons to particular icons because of the similarity between icons which made them difficult to recognise. For instance I want to change the displayed icon for .jpg to be associated with Photoshop CS3 by displaying that programmes icon.
I seem to remember accessing "File Types>Advanced>Change Icon" or a path similar to that... unhappily I can no longer remember how I did it.
Any suggestions please?

Thank you RobJohn but that's not the answer I was looking for. There is definetly a path to "View Files" in the equation.

I have mine showing thumbnails for eaiser access without having to open each one to find the one I want.
I also have the "Display file icon on thumbnails" checked but I don't see that on the icons.
When you go to your image viewer and set the files for it to open doesn't it change the icon to that program. Irfanview does that on mine if I don't use thumbnails.
