Changeing an IP address

I want to change my IP address, but I am unsure of how to go about this. I dont exactly know what goes into the IP or what the gateway or subnet mask is. I have comcast and vista. Help?

Why do you want to change your IP address?? Most times they are dynamic controlled by your ISP and change on a regular basis. I have seen numerous posts like yours and none make a lot of sense. What do you hope to gqain by changing your IP?? Did you tick off some Mod on some site and hope to change your IP to fool him into thinking you are someone else? Give us more info as to your intentions and maybe we could help you.
