Specs: Windows XP
I get this message''the wireless security on this computer do not match the settings on the "RouterName",''On the laptop! How do I get to change the security on computer to match? It wont let me add other settings? it was working fine ,but kept getting disconnected every 10 - 15 mins , & had to reset router, infact all 3 laptops connected had same problem! so this is why I was going to lower the security settings for this home w/less it wont connect even hard wired, but it will access the router via hardwired connection? but not internet, PS: this computer I am typing on is hard wired to same router (XP)& I have access. thankyou to anyone in advance for any help.

What kind of equipment do you have for Internet access? Do you have a modem AND a router, or a router BUILT IN a modem? If you have a modem and a router separate, connect one of your computers directly to the modem, and see if you get the same disconnects every 10 to 15 minutes. If that's the case, your ISP or modem may be experiencing problems. If you get a solid connection, then your router may be going bad. I recommend anything from linksys, I myself have a WRT-400n, but I've heard nothing but good things about the WRT54gL Check out for cheap and reliable products. If problems still persist, contact your ISP.
Hope this helped!

I run Ubuntu 9.04 on my Compaq Presario R3000. I also run windows XP & 7(beta) in virtual box.
