Hey,
I've just received my laptop from service and repair for graphics issues. I'm still checking if they've fixed that problem, but along with fixing the laptop they've restored and formatted the harddrive.
Vista was installed in English by me for the first time, but they've now installed it in Swedish (since I live here), but I always want it in English since I like to have all other programs in English.
Is it possible to change the language now afterwards, or do I need to do a restore as well? Or should I go back to the store and complain? :P

/Kim

Might try this link.

Might have to have a local find it until it gets back to English.

If you do not have Vista Ultimate, you cannot do it. Language Packs installation is not available in the other versions.

So the only solution is to restore it again?
Since the service-guy has done it it must be able to work again? Don't ya think?

From the link I posted.

"Change the display language

Applies to all editions of Windows Vista. "

Here is more of the text.

"Change the display language

Applies to all editions of Windows Vista.
Which edition of Windows Vista am I using?

The display language is the language that Windows uses in wizards, dialog boxes, menus, Help and Support topics, and other items in the user interface. Some display languages are installed by default, and others require you to install additional language files. When you change the display language, it is changed for your user account and is not changed on the Welcome screen. If you want to set the display language for multiple users or the Welcome screen, see Apply regional and language settings to reserved accounts.

1.

Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Regional and Language Options.
2.

Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.
3.

Under Display language, choose a language from the list, and then click OK.
NoteIf you don't see the list of display languages, you need to install additional language files first. For more information, see Install a display language.

When you change the display language, the text in menus and dialog boxes for some programs might not be in the language that you want. This happens because the program might not support Unicode. For more information about changing the text in menus and dialog boxes for programs that do not support Unicode, see Change the system locale."

Yup!

Furthermore, running the Swedish version is casual piracy since it is not your license & also infringes on part of the limited warranty on the machine. And your system discs pretty much becomes redundant.
