cd/dvd rom drive

have a cd/dvd/rw drive that is reconized in my computer and open and closes fine but all of a sudden after changing from vista business to home premeium which im not positive is what is broken about it it wont reconize cd's or dvd's in that drive, windows says it has the most up to date driver installed for it, but im just looking for some direction. thanks
