When I put my computer to sleep, it does not wake up. I have to unplug the computer (laptop) and take out / reinsert the battery for it to turn on. However, I have no issue using hibernate. It's just annoying to use hibernate since it takes so much longer to start up than it does in sleep mode.

It started a few months ago. I did a clean sweep, which did not help. Everything is updated. I have searched Windows for a patch specific to the issue, but didn't find anything appropriate.

if you use your power supply regularly, why not just remove the battery, use the power source and then put the Laptop in screensaver mode.
It will also save the life of your battery.
