Please can anyone tell me why this happens?
1. If I save an image from a website (in this instance Ancestry) it will allow me to save it to documents but when I naviagate to the document folder I can't see it. I can see the document when I follow the same route (ie: file/save as..) but if I go to the folder via Windows explorer it isnt there. If I save to a new folder, again I can see it from 'file/save as' but from explorer it says the folder is empty.
2. If I try and save the image into a folder deeper in my system I get the message 'you don't have permission to save to this folder'
This is driving me nuts. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thank You.
Kate

Does this help you ?

Please try to save the image file on the desktop and enable " Show hidden files and folders " option.
You should also install Vista SP2 if none of your programs is incompatible with it.

Thanks for the reply SuatCINI. Apologies for the delay in replying. I did try what you suggested but unfortunately it didn't work. The problem turned out to be an issue between vista and Ancestry's enhanced viewer software. I have add to set IE to open with me as administrator every time in order to see the images. Appreciate your help. Kate :)
