Can't put icons into Game Explorer

For some reason, all the old games disappeared from my Vista Game Explorer. Only the automatically added new games remained, and I can't drag icons into it anymore. When I drag an icon in, it doesn't appear in the game explorer. What could be causing this? Little stuff like this really frustrates me, so any help is much appreciated.

Still battling with this issue after all these months - huh...
Are you sure that you are dragging the actual executable (.exe) file for these errant--albeit old--games. You might want to go the install directory for the applicable games you are trying to manually add to Vista's games explorer & drag the exe from there.

Yeah, the reason I'm back after months is that I fixed the problem, and then it came back. Anyway, my fix is a bit overkill, but it works if you really care about the problem. I simply "upgrade" from vista ultimate to vista ultimate. I don't make any change to my computer, but it seems to reset the game explorer, and it's back to working properly. But thanks for the reply. I just wish I knew what I'm doing wrong to turn it into that locked up state.
