Can't open downloads,but I can save them

February 13, 2011 at 16:38:17
Specs: Windows Vista
About 3 months ago my computer cannot open any downloads on IE, Either it says I do not have permission (which I have checked I do) or it says the file is not there to download or webpage is gone. But when I save the file it works. Problem is that some of the files I need to download don't even give the option of saving them, as soon as you click the link it starts to open the download. I also don't like saving the files my computer doesn't have that much room left on it. Please help! Thanks

It depends on the file types, not all files can be opened. Is it any particular ones?

I appreciate your HD space situation but the safest bet is to save the files. Links that go straight to files limit your chances of properly understanding what they are sending you.

We all live on the same ball.

If i could save all of them I guess will have to but some of them as soon as you click on it, it just starts to open it. And when it does that it doesn't work. I cannot open any files of any type! If a file gives you the option of opening it or saving it I can save it not open it. But my main consern is the files that start to open as soon as you click on it. I used to be able to open anything a couple of months ago and now I cannot open anything!
