Comment: hello friends, Just got a new vista laptop from a store. Now as internet is life i m trying to install wireless modem for internet access. When I connect the modem through ethernet port and put the installation disc into the laptop vista says 'Please log in as an administrator'. Obviously, there is only one user a/c in my system which is of course admin. Still why does vista gives me this error..?? Can any one suggesst me simplest work around to this please..?? many thanks..

Reply: (edit)Disable UAC, go to control panel and then user. Turn user account control off and on, you might have to reboot and you should be able to install the modem. its a new OS, I am sure vista will address the issues in there latest service pack or patch. Jim R
