I have pictures that I want to delete but it says the filenames are too long for the destination folder or too long for the recycle bin. What can I do?

Google for MoveOnBoot. There's another one but the name escapes me at the moment.
MoveOnBoot will only removes files and not directories though.

Alternate solution: Hold Shift when you delete the file. That'll bypass the Recycle Bin, so make sure you know what you're deleting, as there is no undo.

You can renaame the file and then delete.

Ashley Coleman,
Can you tell us where you got the info from for the above Vista "Maximum Supported Characters"?
All I know is that for NTFS file systems the maximum you can have for a filename is 256 characters. The 256 characters count the entire path plus the filename itself.

Bonnietalcott,
Exercise care not to exceed 255 characters. Any filename with more than 255 characters will be truncated. I'm sure you won't want that to happen. As an FYI truncated filenames are difficult but not impossible to remove due to NTFS master file table (MFT) not recognizing it.

You can have up to 255 characters but vista has in its code is specially written for the figures I gave above. Some problems do occur when you excede these limits how ever it does not stop you from creating a file up to 255 characters safely.
My friend works in microsoft and helped write Vista. I wont name him because he will prorably be dead tomorrow if I do.

In that case please provide us with link(s) to official Windows Vista M$ documentations that supports your claim.

I do not have any official material nor can I find any. I accepted what my friend told me and I stated it on here.
