Hi

Sorry for the lack of details about the laptop, I cant remember them and it is not mine.

When the broadband connects it says it is connected and the anti virus etc, downloads the updates so the connection must be working BUT when opening IE to browse the internet it will not open any pages??

Any Ideas?

cheers

Any browser is or can be a security threat - not just IE.

What lead to this & when did you first notice the anomaly? Have you considered a system restore?

It is a brand new laptop and the internet was installed and it started, so it shouldnt need restoring as it is a brand new system??
