Do you think it is a Vista problem or a hardware problem? I don't want to lose all of my files AGAIN! Is there any way to save them?

It could be a hardware problem, but that's difficult to tell, especially since you provided no information about your hardware. Is this a laptop or a desktop ? Are you saying that the startup repair wouldn't complete and just left you at the screen giving those errors ? I would run a check on the hard drive using the manufacturer's disgnostics.
