I am running Windows Vista on a HP Pavillion. I using the built-in administrator account. I am trying to add additional gadgets to my windows sidebar. Whenever I download a gadget and try to install it or install it from the website Vista tell me that there is no file association for the .gadget file and vista take me to the web to find a program that matches the extension. I then try to make the association myself by associating the .gadget file to "c:\program files\windows sidebar\sidebar.exe". After doing this I double click the file and all it does is launch the windows sidebar window. I am not sure what else to do. I know that was able to install gadgets before. Does anyone have an idea/clue or can point me in the right direction.
