Line In - tried several devices but cannot hear, or record.
Realtek Audio Manager recognizes that something is plugged in.
I have tried connecting several devices into the line-in jack of my MB and I cannot hear anything no matter how I adjust the levels in the Realtek HD Audio Manager or Windows mixer. I used to be able to record the sound (without being able to hear it) into Cool Edit Pro but now that won't even work.
If anyone has experience with Windows Vista 64 and recording sound I would be so thankful . I never had this problem when I was using my SB Live Value card in Windows XP Pro but since I have been using Vista 64, I have not been able to have the same functionality and I do not know if it is the OS, a driver issue, my MB, or configuration because too many things have changed.
Please help. Thank you in advance.

I installed Windows XP 32 and tried using the card ... still no sound from the inputs so I disabled the card and installed my trusty ol' Soundblaster Live Value. It picked up the Line in source and I could hear it right away without having to configure anything.
So the Realtek on board sound bites. I'll stick with a dual boot for now and use the SB in XP32.

Thanks for the suggestion, I wish it had worked.
