cannot get pass loading screen

I have this problem,During the loading screen (the 1 with the green bar) i cannot go any further.It keeps loading,not even stopping once. i need help with this...plz reply i am a noob in computers,so if the "loading screen " has a proper name,please correct me (note:the computer i am using now is another computer.)

hit f8 before welcome screen choose last good known configuration if it wont do it do system restore

Your computer may have some corrupted files that are necessary to load Windows. Try putting your Vista DVD in the drive and restart your computer. Press "any key" to boot from the DVD and continue like you are going to reinstall Windows. In a few minutes it will ask you if you want to install or repair Windows. Select repair. If I remember correctly, Vista will automatically check and repair the startup files. Follow instructions and reboot the PC without the DVD. I hope this helps.
