Both computers using windows vista home premium. I have a desktop with a nestgear WGT624 router. My laptop can see and access files and printer on desktop but the desktop can see the laptop but can not access the files. Network click laptop can not find\\laptop. Check spelling of the name otherwise there might be a problem with the network. error 0x80070035 network path not found diagnose Can not connect to the server laptop. This worked perfect until I had to reformatt the laptop and now nothing but trouble. I use Kaspersky Anti virus. Would greatly appreciate anything that might help Thanks Garth

Start with the ip address instead of the name. "Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Check any firewall (Windows firewall, antivirus firewall, etc) activated on laptop, disable it until you have solved this problem. Also test to ping laptop's IP from desktop and you should be able to ping it. If not, most likely something is blocking the access.
