I have had more luck using my windows media player burning data videos to use on my dvd home player which reads files like the coputer. But some files that are not mpg format will not work. I have tried down loading video converters to change format but while searching it seams the searces almost always ask did i mean mpeg. I simply want to know the type of files that would best fit my situation?

Try Super video converter. Never had problems with it.
