Not sure where to post, but here's a stupid question. Is there a programs that will emulate a Blu-Ray drive (similar to Daemon Tools). I have Adobe Encore CS3 that will make Blu-Ray discs, I have a Sony HDV camera, and no Blue-Ray drive. I'd like to be able to creat disc images and then mount them in Windows (Vista Ultimate, 64 bit) to test menus and playback and such.
Thanks.

You should be able to just mount the .iso of the Blu-Ray image via Nero's virtual "Image Drive".

You don't need to go to that extent if you're running from your computer. People are creating red laser disks for the blu ray player with M2T files or AVCHD files. Blu ray players fully support both these formats... and Nero will directly play M2T files. In other words, you don't need to emulate a blu ray drive at all... or rather you could, but it would be an unnecessary step. The other thing you could do (if you already have a blu ray player... or PS3) is make your own red laser hi def disks... you don't need any special drive for this.

I would not however bother with a REAL blu ray burner just yet though unless you plan on using your computer for the playback. Sony is having problems with their players reading home burned blu ray disks so the whole blu ray burning issue is still on shakey ground.

I burn HD DVD's... the Tosh high def player will also support high def red laser disks (called hybrid HD DVD's). I work mostly with Sony Vegas7 which will create and work with M2T files... but I'm also pretty sure Encore will export M2T files as well.
