Subject: Blue Screen - Driver corruptedOS: Vista Home PremiumCPU/Ram: 3GBModel/Manufacturer: HP Pavilion Elite m9040n |
Comment: Just started today, a blue screen of death pops up indicating something about corrupted driver, the whole screen has text but i goes away before I can read four lines. It goes to Safe Mode and then it reboots automatically. It happened three times in four hours. The text suggested to run Driver verifier, whatever that means. Any suggestions. I scanned the full system for virus with two different utilities, I have a router and ZoneAlarm as firewalls. ZoneAlarm, BitDefender, Scan with , SpyBot

Reply: (edit)If you can get to system properties, startup and recovery, uncheck automatic reboot. Then click start, run, type eventvwr.msc and press enter. Look at all the log files for error messages.

Reply: (edit)Nothing was installed or uninstalled. At about 2 hrs ago I unchecked the automatic reboot as suggested. No blue screen popped up since. ZoneAlarm, BitDefender, Scan with , SpyBot
