blue box with arrow

my image files suddenly have a blue box with two white arrows attached to each one on the lower left hand side. Does anyone know how I can get rid of them?

My wife has these also on her image files, she is running Vsta and she hates these as they obscure part on the thumbnail. Trying to figure this out also.

Found my problem in Norton 360 The blue boxes with the two white chevrons (arrows or greater than symbols) are to show the backup status of folders and files. Once I turned off the automatic backup option in Norton the blue boxes went away. Hope this helps you.

I also encountered this problem, and I turned off the automatic back up, but the blue boxes with the white chevrons remained over the photo thumbnails. There is an option in Norton 360 to turn off the backup status overlays (Blue boxes). This must be selected to remove the overlays. The automatic backup can remain on, and if the backup status overlays are turned off, the icons will no longer be placed on the files that Norton is scheduled to back up.
