block install

Specs: Windows Vista
I have a windows vista premium 64 bit OS running on an hp touchpad. I'm trying to find a way to disable the installation of a specific program. I know that permissions can be granted to groups, but I need to do this to an administrator. I also know that as an administrator, this can all be undone. However, I am looking for a way to stop someone that isn't very tech savvy, while not influencing any other control of the computer. My first though would be to do this somehow in the registry, but I'm not sure how.

Remove that person from Admin first.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Yeah, I'm with jefro. Whoever the person is, restrict their user account so they can't install software. Easiest way to do this is to add their account to the Users group and remove it from all others.

If you really want to restrict only one application from being installed, then frankly I encourage you to re-think your requirements. Does this person really need rights to install software at all?
