Specs: Windows vista home premium 32
Hi I have Vista home premium 32. I can only get a black screen, it will not wake up monitor to boot. The monitor works perfectly on other pc, so that is not the problem. I have been looking for the answer online, and came a cross a fix from Microsoft ( fix it 50078 ). Evidently the disk cleanup utility erased the hibernation files, and now monitor will not wake up. I downloaded the fix it on my other computer, but it will not install because this computer has XP. Could someone please tell me if there is a way to install the fix it onto a cd, as I am unable to do it on the Vista machine. Thanks.

You problem is FIX IT has removed your graphics driver. You need to boot to your computer using Safe Mode and reinstall your graphics driver.

I did figure out what was wrong. Like I said I could not get into safe mode or any other mode because the monitor would not wake up. It was not the video card as I did try one, but the same result. It was two bad ram boards, which I was surprised by since the machine is only about 3 years old, but when I took the two out, the remaining one worked and it booted right up.

Thanks, and hopefully this might help someone get past this issue.
