|If Safe Mode continues to run without crashing or shutting down, there is nothing wrong with the hard drive. A faulty hard drive or motherboard would affect Safe Mode just the same as Normal Mode.|
When Safe Mode runs okay, but Normal Mode does not, it is usually caused by a bad or incompatible device driver that you've recently installed, or some incompatible software that you've recently installed of the types listed below:
Third-party Firewall software.
CD/DVD burning software.
Virtual CD software.
If you can remember recently installing a driver or any of the above software types, uninstall it in Safe Mode. Then try starting Windows normally.
