Bios Checksum Error ( computer can not boot)

Specs: Windows 7
i was upgrading the Bios my Hp Pavilion a6070c when my lil' girl unintentionally shutdown the computer. Now when i switch on the says Bios checksum error and also insert system disk and press enter. Please i really need an help from any of you. Thank You in advance

I think there's a good chance you can recover the BIOS cause apparently it has some functions which it shouldn't have if it had been completely trashed... if that had been the case, you would probably see a blank screen. The "BIOS checksum error" indicates the BIOS battery is running out of power the BIOS needs to save hardware information and "system disk" is the floopy that contains the BIOS update files. So you have to replace the nickel size CR2032 battery on the motherboard before you can proceed and attempt to reflash the BIOS. Next make remake the floopy with new BIOS update files and see if you can reflash the BIOS.. If the BIOS cant continue, try using the open source utility called "UniFlash" ( Check the thread at and read under "The following worked for me". the guy used the mantioned application.

Experts say that once the power fails during a BIOS update all is caput and there's no hope, but experts have said lots of thing that in time I've found to be untrue or outdated. I've been reading some comments that say you can always recover from a bad BIOS update... check the following link
