Im having some problem with my dual-booting. I origianly had Windows xp installed and then i created a new partition and installed Windows Vista on it. When i did this it worked fine and i was able to choose which operating system i wanted to boot to. I then tried istalling a third operating system on a third partition. I was testing the 64x version of vista on the third partion. I didnt like it so i uninstalled it and deleted the third partition.
This is where the problems started. Because i deleted the third partition i screwed up the Master boot record. I now got an error when i tried to boot windows. So i then used windows PE and Partion magic to fix my XP install. I was able to boot into xp. I then did the same thing with my vista install (i changed the boot partion to my vista install). This worked too. I can now boot into vista. But i do not have the option to choose which operating system i want to boot. Every time i want to change which os i want to boot i have to use partiton magic to change my boot partition.
When i am using windows vista my BCDEDIT does not see my partition with windows xp installed. Why cant it see it? Because i cant see it i cant set it to be displayed in the boot list on startup. Anybody know what i can do to fix this? Thanks for the help.

After working on my computer all day i have finally found a solution to my problem at 1:14 in the morning. I set the first partition (which i have Xp installed on) as active. I then used the windows Vista CD to install the vista boot loader. I did this by launching the recovery console from the cd and using the Bootrec.exe to fix the boot sector and MBR. (bootrec.exe /fixboot, bootrec.exe /fixmbr) I then used the /rebuildbcd command to find the xp installation.
After doing this i restarted the computer and in booted straight into Windows vista, despite having the fisrt partition set as active which happens to be my XP Partition. (this is because i installed the vista boot loader onto this partition). After i booted into vista i used the command:
bcdedit.exe /displayorder {legacy} /addlastto find and display the XP installtion that the boot loader found when i was originally installing it onto the first partition as mentioned above. Once this was done i restarted my computer and all was fine. I hope this helps somebody else.
