Hi There,
I am looking to do a fresh install of my laptop which runs vista. i have nearly 14 gig of files i need to back up! what would be the best option for this? cd? online back up? putting them in to zip files and burning to cd?

You would need a way to access those files maybe in the future. I like to use NTbackup. It compresses about as good as any. I use it over a network or on a usb drive on such large amounts. Even zipped it would be a lot. 5 G to 14 G is still a lot to put on CD's. CD's fail in a few years too.
Online would take years unless you have real high up-link speeds. Very few people do.

A DVD Backup will take 3 or 4 disks for 14 Gigs.

ahh thanks!
i will prob go the dvd route..... what about creating a partition and then installaing vista on there and then copying stuff over? or copying my vids and photos to another partition and then formatting the original disk?
