Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!

I wish it was true but hey nope - it's nothing more than satirical piece of report (isn't the net is full of articles like that?).

See the article below that disputed the credibility of the story originally posted by bbspot.

Next time remember not to believe everything you read on your "internet travels."

Ahh well... it sounded too good to be true but with M$ you can never take anything for granted (can you)?

It was a pleasant thought for some though.

It doesn't matter what we take for granted. The pronouncement of something like this has to be issued by M$ themselves. In fact, the bbspot article failed to give any verificable link to M$ sources.

Microsoft announced that in response to user complaints that Vista is "just to dammed complicated" and the current nostalgia trend the next "patch Tuesday" forced update routine will reset the users PC to Windows Version 1 bundled with Netscape Navigator 1. There will be only one screensaver that will have a 1978 picture of Bill Gates with “really long” hair. All of the analysts from CNET and Gartner agreed that “this was genius” noting that this move will make the hippie, new wave and grunge generations “wax nostalgic"
