ATI X1950GT and Vista x64 crash!

My video card doesn't appear to be supported by Vista x64. I have the X1950GT which is a down-clocked X1950 Pro. I'm using PCIe x16 interface and a 630W power supply with a PCIe cable (not a molex>PCIe adapter). When I install/run Vista in 32-bit, the video card works perfectly, but after reformatting and installing 64-bit I get horrible graphical distortion, artifacting, and a system crash. Resolutions up to 1400x1050 work fine with no distortion, and not using the Aero interface up to 1680x1050 (my max res.) works fine, but using Aero causes it to crash. Additionally, the Vista rating system test causes it to freeze. I've gotten a few BSOD stating video driver issues, but I've tried every catalyst from 7.2 to 7.8 and can't find a single one that works! I can't RMA the card as I've already gotten a rebate, so I'm about to scrap it all and eBay the card (it works perfectly in 32 bit, but I need 64 on my system!) Any ideas on what could be causing the problem?

I tried using the drivers for the X1950 from ATI and Sapphire (on clean installs no less) and the didn't work any differently. I even tried installing the south bridge driver separately and nothing came of it.
Thanks for the link, but I've had those hotfixes (compatiblity and reliability or whatev) for a while, as well as the 'leaked SP1 preview' which didn't really give me any particular help. Here's a screenshot I got before the entire screen died again:
