How do you get ASX files to play using Vista and WMP 11? Never had this problem with XP and WMP 10. You can't uninstall WMP 11 since it is part of the Vista operating system.

I haven't the slightest idea what you are talking about. You need to go slow with me, this is a problem that several of us with Vista WMP 11 have. It refuses to open web pages with streaming video associated with ASX files. I'm sure that someone out there has a solution.

It's a M$ problem.

If you take a look at the this MSKB article, you will notice that WMP11 under XP supports asx format. I looked around MS sites for Vista equivalent to this document and couldn't find anything. You are not alone, others have inquired about the same thing like this one.

By the way, go easy with how you responded to guapo suggestion. He was trying to help you just like I am.

Alright. By the way I fixed the MSKB link in Post 3. Read it again to see what files are supported by WMP in what Windows OS. Vista is not mentioned in it anywhere.

I have been reading through tons of forums on this topic and I don't see anyone with any real answers. I can't believe that so many people with Vista WMP 11 pre-installed are having the same problem and Microsoft does nothing about it.

One does not just "contact" Microsoft. Yes, after many hoops that I jumped through and I got absolutely nowhere with them. They told me to contact my support at Gateway Computers. From looking at other forums, there has to be hundreds to thousands of us having this problem that Microsoft isn't doing anything about. I will get this resolved. I am surprised that none of you have heard or seen this problem, aren't you using Vista with WMP 11?

I've got Vista Ultimate, but I do not have the issue & haven't come across anyone that did until this thread.
