Comment:

Your current version of the crap AOL software will not work when you upgrade the OS to Vista.

If you want to continue it you must install AOL version 9.0VR (Windows Vista Ready) or Latino 9.0VR.

Both are the only version fully compatible with Vista.

For more info check out AOL FAQ HERE.

"Fully Compatible" .... I was trying to help an acquaintance who needed AOL on his brand new Vista laptop. The AOL installer would cause a blue screen of death. And this was with the version released Feb 8 that, according to AOL, contains "numerous bug fixes" (cite http://beta.aol.com/projects.php?pr...)

Oh boy damn M$ for being too self-centered. I hate wjat they did ... they placed the burden on the world to upgrade/rewrite/recode their own software to work with the overhyped Vista.

Doesn't seem as if HE really cares about the 'rest of the world' :-)

mattie,

Cut the guy some slack will ya? C'mon, if he has to really care about folks how is he ever gonna have time to spend all that green that he's got - huh?

And besides, the paper money is stacked so wide and high that (even if he tried) he couldn't (through no fault of his) see anyone behind it, even with the most powerful X-ray goggles.........LOL

IMO AOL is more than e-mail client. It's sort of a YouTube & MySpace except that it's confined to textual transmissions for chat, etc.

Another reason is that you can have 7 usernames under your master account. You can pretend you are 7 different person and you get away with it as long as you are careful to disguise your true identity.

Still more reasons -

It's free (if you have your own ISP)

You also get McAfee for free (a lot of people don't understand what's resource hog anyway)

FYI 7 usernames under your master account: You can only log in using any one of your 7 usernames - one at a time - no simultaneity.

Yeah well IE 7 and as many hotmail accounts as you want solves that problem. :)
