I am writing for my husband who is 99% NON computer literate...He says all of a sudden a pop-up came...it calls itself Antivirus 2008...it's driving him NUTS...It is not listed in programs to add/remove...it is not listed when he does a search, except for a shortcut...is there a way to DELETE this and find where it even came from? thank yoU!

It is a form of spyware. Do you have a good firewall installed ? See this link:

its so easy to remove it /
start,run,type msconfig, enter,mark selective startup
,click on services,mark down the words- Hide all Microsoft services-
, then leave V only on your antivirus (if it avg8 so avg8 ,if node32
or kaspwrsky-Kav
norton-ccapp ecc,then click on startup-there leave V only on
your antivirus ,ctfmon,
then ,apply, ok, restart computer , after computer come up
, mark V on the message that comeup.then download Ccleaner
from here-

and clean all the garbage from your computer
, you can do it twice a week.

Download and install the following programs:

Windows Defender
PC Tools Anti-Virus
Spyware terminator

Run a full scan with all of these programs.

it has to do with vumundo virus download sdfix to get rid of this also run spybot afterwards

Hi sweet image,
dont worry about your husband being computer illiterate. i understand you very well because my wife manages to turn on the pc... barely! LOL
anyway i had this kind of issue and i solved it by installing spyboot search and destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/...
why this software? because it is easy to install and use. just install it, run it and if your pc has any spyware it will remove it right away! by the way tell you husband not to download everything which comes up from the internet ( pop ups windows etc)...as my wife does! thats how my wife pestered my pc with 11 spywares!
