|Thank you, but as it turns out, something else was the culprit. Some programs, it seems, pre-empt stuff like that, reserve such input for their exclusive use. I uninstalled several programs I either did not like or no longer needed, and voila! My keyboard is back! Wheeee! I don't know which one was the culprit, but here's a list of what I removed:|
Games: Dead Reefs, Nibiru, Keepsake, Tunguska, Mysterious Island. Others: IcoFX, My Screensaver Maker, RealPlayer, Rhapsody....anyhow, it's now a moot point. All is well in the universe.
I also cleaned my registry using RegCleaner (the Eastern European one, not the Microsoft product), picking out the crap that Windows Vista seems incapable of getting rid of all on its own, making sure to even delete file extensions no longer in use.
