acer aspire 9300 laptop orbitcam issue

September 26, 2012 at 09:19:41
Specs: Windows 7
Aspire 9300 with Bison webcam. I use to have an "Orbitcam" icon on my desktop to select the camera function. Icon disappeared. Orbitcam is working but I cannot find the icon to install on my desktop. Without this there apparently is no way to access the camera. Any suggestions?
I am using Vista7.The Bison drivers are up to date. Problem is not a "driver" issue. Seems to be more of a "software" isue.

"I am using Vista7"

Vista7 does not exist - you mean either Windows Vista or Windows 7 don't you?

Now to your problem.
The Aspire 9300 requires two separate installations -- the actual webcam driver plus the "Bison" application. It's available on the Aspire website (I just checked).

Please be aware that Acer don't support Windows 7 on the Aspire 9300, only XP or Vista. Therefore the functionality of the webcam may be adversely affected.
