im having a prob with my acer aspire 5920.when i srtated it, d screen says, "windows failed to start. A recent hardwareor software change might be the cause". then further down the page it states
if windows files have been damagged or configured incorrectly startup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem.if power was interrupted during start up, choose start windows normally

Can you get in from safemode?
If you cannot, you will need to run a repair installation of some kind to get back in. Do you have any disc for the machine?

On my acer aspire 5620 @ boot I can hit F12 to reinstall

Or at the boot menu it should have "directory services restore mode" which I think boots you into safe mode to be able to restore your pc to a previous restore point, if it'll get there.
