... wiggle the adapter plug were it fits into the laptop socket, do the led lights flash on/off at all during the wiggle?

... green was the old colour for "on"

... blue maybe the new one for certain laptops

... but if the battery is not charged up the old colour used to be amber turning to green when charged

... do you know if that is the case with your charging system?

... noticed anything different?

... the wiggle was to determine if there is a "solder crack" inhibiting charging and current flow!

when the battery in attached green means charge amber means needs charging and red means empty. the laptop was working fine, then just wouldnt boot up one morning.
could it be a power problem? you have to have the mains plugged in for it to work as the battery has gone

... I used a laptop all the time like that with a "naff" battery.

... but all that "sticking in the power adapter" did take its toll after a few stiff brandies eventually power outing the poor thing and digging out the solder iron!
