Ok I found this site and I am pretty much stupid when it comes to computers.. I know everything as thing as thinger me bober and do hicky sooooo please bare with me on this… Well here is my problem… I have an acer 5100 with vista…I did an update a couple of days ago and now have nothing but problems..Update to windows and an update to the ATI radon express 100 graphics…Then when I re boot it would not it then gave me the option of windows can fix the problem thing and would back date my computer..Ok that was fine..However it would keep downloading the same thing so I had to back date again…..the problem is…now this last time…it is saying bad drive can not load windows. It is only giving one date to back date to and no other dates at all and the date it is giving me is the same date and time that the computer would not load…so now I cannot load at all…. I hope that makes sense. I know I told you I had no idea what I was doing :) Anyway I order the recovery CD from acer. So I now also have 2 questions and this may sound stupid…But I real would like to not loose everything I have before I do a restore… The one question is… is there anything I can no now to get this up….two with the cd is there a way to do a partial restore (only reason I ask is I had and acer desktop years ago..and you where able to do partial in order to fix but then sometimes had to do a full restore) again I hope this makes sense…any help would be greatly appreciated.. oh and the final question is… it looks like I can do a full restore without the disk…if that is my only option to fully restore is there any benefit to waiting for the disks to come :) Thanks in advanced…
