I recently joined big fish games and got a card in the mail for a free game so downloaded it. When installing it I get a message that says since I am running a 64 bit operating system which I am it's currently not supported. Says to read my computer manual and down grade to 32 bit so it will run better.

I ran it anyway and started to play and I can't see there is a problem as it is a puzzle type solvoing mystery game.

In the future if I get that message and a game does not work how to I get 32bit? Mary

Simple ... you remove the 64-Bit installation & switch to 32-Bit installation or install a 32-Bit installation & run it side-by-side in a dualboot configuration.

Simple answer is you are kind of stuck.

The games will either work or not. The problem also is the types of products they offer. They may have timers in to stop in 60 days or be trials or other. They may rely on other applications that also require special ways to run.

Brief Description

Windows Vista® and Windows Server® 2008 fully support the 64-bit architecture processors from AMD and Intel. The 64-bit version of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 can run all 32-bit applications with the help of the WOW64 emulator. However, the kernel does not support 16-bit applications, 32-bit installers, and 32-bit kernel mode drivers.
"

So that brings us to what is WOW64, That is your problem.

"The WoW64 subsystem is a lightweight translation layer that has similar interfaces on all 64-bit versions of Windows. Its primary purpose is to create a 32-bit environment that provides the interfaces required to allow 32-bit Windows applications to run unmodified in the 64-bit system."

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Ok, I am 1/4 way through the game and I see no problems, was just wondering. I paid for the club so this is not trial stuff they are sending me that will expire, it's the full version they sent me a free code for. It's just a puzzle type mystery game but I am enjoying it. Mary
