Hello

A NT4 workstation HP Vectra SP6 has a boot error on the blue screen (ie memory, build, sp).

The message is 'dynamic link library winsrv could not be found in the default load path'.

I have tried to recover this file by copying another version of this dll into winnt\system32. This has not corrected the problem. I have tried to recover master NT files into I386 folder (in case any errors have arisen here) - again no success.

So I was wondering how I can find out what the default load path is (in case this is corrupt) - via dos which at the moment is my only way into this pc.

Ideas would be appreciated.

After salvaging files needed via a zip drive (in dos), I sent this box overboard and went for a reinstall.

If anyone can suggest what may have caused the fault in the first instance pls do.
