Word 97 running under Windows NT4

Comment:
I am experiencing several problems with Word 97 since installation of Windows NT. One is that Word often, seemingly at random, just disappears losing all alterations since the last save. Another is that some documents, when opened, lose all formating applied to them and have a list of rubbish, that presumably pertains to the formatting, at the bottom of the document.
Can anyone help? I have no idea of how to prevent these problems and it is getting rather urgent.

Office 97 which includes Word97 was not year 2000 complient unless you have installed the latest service packs for office. I do not know it thats what is causing your problem. What service pack are you running on your NT machine?

Perhaps you are opening the document not as a Word document by as file type "Recover Text from any File". When you open a document, make sure the the File Type is Word document.
