My PDC has a corrupt entry in the WINS database. The error is easy to see in WINS Manager: viewing the database, a laptop that got miss-named the same as the PDC causes a conflict in the <00> ComputerName entry. How do you delete bogus entries in the WINS database? The delete button and right click context does nothing from inside WINS Manager. NBTSTAT -n shows the error, but -R does not clear it. Any ideas?

This is what I did with my corrupted DB: -stop de WINS service in the control panel -delete (or move to another dir) all the files in the dir %systemroot%\system32\wins\ -restart the WINS service The WINS service will now create a new DB. (You can also use an utilty called jetstart to fix corrupted DB; this included in NT; it's complexer to use)
