We are running 3 WINS servers in an NT 4.0 environment. Server A pulls from server B at 5am, then server A pulls from server C at 6am, then server C pulls from server A at 7am, then server B pulls from server A at 8am. This process repeats every 12 hours. However, on server A we are getting an error with Event ID: 4227 and the following text:
The Push Thread was requested for a range of records but could not find any in the range. This is a serious error. Make sure that the time intervals are set properly. If the tombstone interval and timeout intervals are not correct (i.e. too small-- being << the replication interval), the above condition is possible. This is because the records might get changed into tombstones and then deleted before the remote WINS can pull them. In the same vein, if the refresh interval is set to be << replication interval then the records could get released before a WINS can pull them (a released record is not sent).
I have tried playing around with the "time" intervals within the WINS manager with no luck. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You need to get a reply from someone who has actually seen the condition themselves. My bet is that the following links are not new to you:

Ours WINS servers were setup up for automatic push-pull replication from all partners, and we never had any problems. Have you tried NOT setting times for them to push/pull? If it's all automatic, there shouldn't be any problems.
HTH,
Chase
