I ran the set up file again and the messages said that "Make sure your CD Rom drive is switched on and properly connected. If it is a SCSI CD Rom drive, make sure your SCSI devises are properly terminated.I do not know what to do. I do not have a boot disk and I am not sure that will help.
I also do not have a CD rom support disk. Can anyone help????

Hello,
From the description of your query, it seems that the hard disk
in your computer has a lot of "bad sectors" is it.That means due to usage, certain areas of the hard disk have
lost the capability to retain or store data. This is normal as the
hard disk ages.
Bad Sectors can also be reported when data stored in that
particular region of Hard disk is corrupted.
RECTIFICATION OF BAD SECTORS
If the hard disk has bad disks due to physical damage or usage,
then it CANNOT be rectified. However, if the hard disk is having bad sectors due to corrupted
data, then it can be rectified. There are utilities to rectify such errors in hard disk. However,
please take the backup of your data before using the utility.Given below is a link to a website maintained by Quantum
Hard disk manufacturers, that provide a utility called "ZeroFill"
http://www.quantum.com/support/csr/software/csr_software.htm
Click on "1.01" link under the listing "ZeroFill" to download it.You can know the precautions & steps for installation of
Zero Fill form this webpage:
http://service.quantum.com/softsource/disk_docs/zf101doc.htmIf this does not work, try reformatting your hard disk or replacing
it with a new hard disk.Regards,
Sherlock.

I thought it did not sound good. At about 1:00AM last night as a last resort. I disconnected the CD rom and reconnected it and check my other connections and it came back up. Boy was I grateful. I have now reposted another problem regarding the service pack I need to load in order to load a video software. I appreciate your timeliness in responding. Thanks Lisa
