WinNT 3.1 on newer processors

Comment:
Is there any way to install and run Windows NT 3.1 or 3.5 on processors newer than pentium 1? I am trying to run it on the VmWare Workstation emulator, but so far I know, the virtual machine created this way allways has the same processor as the real one. I am able to run many older operating systems this way, even Dos 1.1, or Windows 1.01 on Dos 3.0, but with Windows NT 3.1 I get an error message in the installation, saying something like "Windows NT cannot run on this processor. Installation cannot continue.". I have allready tried to install it on a Pentium M and a Pentium 4. I know it would run on a Pentium 1, but there has to be some way to run it on newer processors.

Thanks for help.

There is a patch for using these OSes on Pentium II and higher. I have never tried it.
It can be found on:

http://winhistory.simpletec.de/NTpatches.zip

It is for use with NT 3.1 and NT 3.5 Server.
