We want to use Finite Element code on a PC (2*833MHz, 1Go RAM) under NT. We have noticed that the time of computation increases tremendously when the screensaver starts. Any clue ?

Are you looking for a technical explanation of why the screensaver does that, or are you saying that it's problematic, and you want to remedy the situation?

Is there a reason why you don't want to just disable the screensaver using the "diplay" applet in control panel?
