I would like to know the differences btw WindowsNT and Windows95 \98 . How the above differ in relation to accessing LAN or WAN, i.e. client server relationships. And if possible a simple tutorial on how to hook on to a LAN or WAN using the above OSs. Thanks and regards. NB I am a novice at this.

win95 and 98 is much the same...98 is just with active desktop installed etc...win nt differs alot though..much more stable mad for networking...the difference lies in security and stability and speed...nt kick ass in those...win95 plug and play anmd for the user at home...could be in a network but lack security which nt gives...both still uses tcp/ip and all the same protocols....gimmi a call if more help is needed

The main difference is : Windows NT is a real operating system. (Multitasking/Threading, Hardware control by system, stable processes, user rights etc.) Windows 95/98 are (just like old Win311) based on MSDOS.
