Windows NT 4 keeps rebooting at the blue startup screen. Not sure why

Any changes to the system prior to this?
Overheating - are all fans running OK?
RAM is OK; reboots/BSOD are often due to failing RAM?
HD is corrupted or at least the NT installation is?
Can you get into last known good config or into safe-mode (VGA-mode)?

NO changes to the system. Fans are running fine. Ram seems to check OK. The HD is OK. I can read it on another system. It does the same thing when booting to VGA mode. At the blue startup screen it shows the current version, like normally does, and then just starts to reboot again.

without having more details, it is probably a driver or bad hardware (nic or modem is the most common). Try removing the modem and booting, if it doesn't, try the nic, then whatever else is there until you find it.

Failing any of the above (NIC/modem etc.) you may need to run a repair routine - check system files (manual option).
Oddly ( a week or so back) I had a similar event three times in a row with my W2K installation. It's part of a mutli-boot and all other OS booted etc. fine. W2K started going into an endless reboot loop - after many months of working perfectly. It took three separate Repair routines - check system files option - to resolve it. It would boot OK immediately after a repair routine, then boot-loop next time rebooted (usually next day). Currently all is well.
